Dispute preparation

One letter per item, specific enough not to be dismissed, sent so the date of arrival can be proved.

Duration: About a week to prepare, then the statutory window. Priced from scope, invoiced on delivery of each named output.

Sequence

  1. day 1 to 3One letter per item. Each states the specific thing that is wrong and what proves it, because a letter that disputes everything at once can be dismissed as frivolous under FCRA 611(a)(3).
  2. day 3 to 5You read them. Change anything. If a sentence is not true, it does not go.
  3. the fourth business day, at the earliestNothing is sent before your three business day cancellation window has closed. That is CROA 1679e and we treat it as a hard stop, not a formality.
  4. postingPosted with tracking. You get the article numbers so you can follow them without asking us.
  5. on arrivalThe due date worked out from the delivery date and sent to you in writing the same day.
  6. day 30, or 45Chased on the day it is late rather than the day somebody notices.

What this is not

Scope is easier to hold when the exclusions are written down at the start rather than argued about in week four.

  • Items that are accurate. We will have told you that on the review rather than sell you a letter about it.
  • A guarantee. The clock and the decision both belong to the agency.

It ends with: A copy of every letter, every tracking number, every reply forwarded whole, and an invoice covering only the items that reached an outcome.
